Example projects

Company websites

Explain your offer, organize your services, and make it easy for the right customers to contact you.

Customer portals

Give customers a focused place to find information, make requests, or review work, with access designed into the scope.

Custom business tools

Bring a specific task into one usable interface: an internal dashboard, guided intake, calculator, or workspace.

A useful first project

Start with the journey that matters most.

Define the audience, the action they need to take, and the pages or tools that support it.

What we agree before building

  • The essential pages, content, and customer actions
  • A responsive design you can review on a phone and computer
  • Any forms, accounts, integrations, and data ownership
  • Launch checks, measurement needs, and handover materials

We agree the scope and quote before building. Hosting, integrations, ongoing support, and third-party costs are discussed as part of that scope.

Who this is for

A business whose website has to do a job.

Most of the businesses we talk to in Toledo and Northwest Ohio do not need a bigger website. They need one that says clearly what they do, who they serve and how to reach them, and that a search engine can read as easily as a person. That is true for a service company with seven offerings, a professional practice with one, and a firm that mostly wants a portal for existing customers.

It is also for a business that already has a website and cannot tell what it is doing for them. We start by reading the current site the way a visitor and a crawler do: what the first screen says, which pages exist, what the titles and descriptions promise, how fast the page becomes readable on a phone, and whether the structured data names the business at all.

What is included

The pages, the search work, and the way it is measured.

A website project from us covers the whole path from a search result to a contact, not only the design.

  • Information architecture: which pages exist, what each one is for, and how they link to each other, written down before anything is designed.
  • Design for each page, reviewed on a phone and a computer, with images sized for the screens that load them. Standard per-page sites use supplied copy; original content is included only when named in the scope.
  • Technical SEO built in: one heading per page, titles and descriptions of the right length, canonical addresses, an accurate sitemap, a robots policy, and Schema.org structured data for the business, its services and its pages.
  • Speed as a requirement: self-hosted fonts, deferred third-party scripts and responsive images, checked against Core Web Vitals before launch rather than after.
  • The forms, accounts and integrations you need, with a clear statement of who owns the data and where it lives.
  • Measurement: first-party visit analytics you own, Google Analytics 4 and Search Console connected, and a launch checklist you can re-run.

How pricing works

A written scope, then a quote, before any building.

Our website cost calculator shows published per-page and package prices. The written quote confirms the scope: the pages or tools, the content that exists and the content that has to be written, the integrations, the launch checks and what happens after launch. The quote is for that scope.

Hosting, domains and any third-party subscriptions are named separately so you can see them. Changes after launch are quoted as their own small scopes, and small ones are often quick. You review the scope and the quote, and nothing is built until you have agreed to both.

In practice

What this looked like for PC NET TECHS.

PC NET TECHS, a managed IT provider with offices in Bowling Green and North Canton, Ohio, came to us for a visual identity and a public website. The site runs on Astro with Wix-managed Headless content, so the business keeps its Wix tools while the pages are built and measured the way we describe above: service, office and region pages with their own titles and descriptions, Schema.org records for the organization, its offices and each service, a sitemap generated from the same list the build checks, and changed pages submitted to search engines automatically when a release goes live.

The same project grew into first-party analytics, a custom CMS and Style Engine, and PC NET DESK, the workspace the business runs it from. The case study shows the public parts; private operations and business results are not published.

Questions people ask

Before you write to us.

How long does a website take?
It depends on how much content exists. A site whose text and photography are ready moves faster than one where the pages still have to be written. The written scope includes a schedule with review points, so you know when you will see the first working version and what is needed from you by then.
Can you rebuild the site I already have?
Yes. We start by measuring the current site (its pages, titles, speed, structured data and what search engines have indexed) and decide with you which parts to keep, which to rewrite and which to rebuild. Existing addresses that have earned their place are redirected, not lost.
Do you work with Wix, WordPress or something else?
We build on Astro, deployed to Vercel or to Wix-managed Headless when a business wants to keep its Wix account and tools. Wix Studio is an option for a smaller site. The choice follows from what the business already uses and what the site has to do; we explain the trade-offs before you decide.
Will I be able to edit the site myself?
Where editing is part of the scope, yes: a content system with the fields your pages actually use, a draft you can preview against the real page, and publishing that keeps a named copy of what was live before. Where a site changes rarely, a simpler arrangement costs less and we will say so.
Is search engine optimization included or extra?
The technical part is included in every website we build: titles, descriptions, headings, canonical addresses, an accurate sitemap, structured data and speed. Writing new pages for new search topics, local listings work and ongoing reporting are scoped separately, because their size depends on the business.
Do you only work in Toledo?
The studio is in Toledo, Ohio, and most of our work is in Northwest Ohio. Remote projects work well for websites and software, since design reviews and working versions are shared online either way.

Custom software & automation

Build around the way
your work happens.

A focused internal tool, customer portal, or guided workflow can put the right information and actions in one place. Start with one concrete task, the people involved, and the result they need.

GlassDesk and CLI demonstrate GCI’s interface and workflow engineering. Production data, accounts, and integrations are agreed separately for your project.

Digital brand expression

A presence that belongs to you.

Within a website project, GCI brings your identity into the digital experience through typography, color, original imagery, page composition, and interaction. The GCI site and Golden Pear concept show that approach in practice.

We define the required assets and usage rights with the project scope. Existing approved logos and brand guidelines guide the work.
